Painter Students have engaged in lion dancing since the return from the pandemic.

In 2024, we aim to expand skills for our developing dancers in after school lion dance!

We offer creative art and dance through our partnership with the Get Down Dance studio of Japantown San Jose.

Science from Scientists (SFS) is a new STEM oriented program that Mr. Manluco hopes to bring to the Painter campus for the 2021-2022 school year under a grant-funded partnership from Genentech!

We are deeply grateful to the partners at Genentech and Science from Scientists for supporting our STEAM programming here at Painter Elementary!

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (Think Together): Painter will continue to have a comprehensive after school program for students in grades TK/K -5th grade. The program is available to 125 students ranging from TK-5th grade daily until 6 p.m.

Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion: Painter is currently taking enrollment for students in TK and Kindergarten who want to learn both English and Vietnamese during the regular school day! With grades TK-1 currently enrolling, we have an ambitious vision to expand to 5th grade in the next four years. Find out more on youtube!

If your child has a birth date within the ranges below, he/she will qualify to be in our program! This program is open to all students in the Bay Area! 

First Grade: September 2, 2014 - September 1, 2015 (prior experience with Vietnamese)

Kindergarten: September 2, 2015 - September 1, 2016

Transitional Kindergarten: September 2, 2016 - March 31, 2017

Ben Painter Elementary School in ARUSD offers Vietnamese Dual Language Immersion! Grades TK, K, 1 and growing into 2nd grade and beyond!

Throughout the month of October starting with after school bilingual Vietnamese Dual Language support, we will be rolling out intervention after school based on student need in ELA and/or math, language supports, and athletic and SEL wellness intervention. This intervention period will continue into the first half of January with a second round to get launched from January to April. The second round will follow up with the waitlist from the October - January interventions.

Intervention 1: October - January (10 weeks)
